Frequently asked questions
Which documents does it check?
Payslips, bank statements, employment contracts, employment records and tax returns as PDF or photo. If the document carries a Social Security CEA code, we also check it against the official portal.
Can it be wrong?
Yes. No system catches 100 % of forgeries or avoids every false alarm. That is why the report explains its reasons and suggests asking for a second document instead of rejecting the applicant.
Is it legal to ask an applicant for a payslip?
Yes, as processing prior to the contract and with the information the GDPR requires. DocuReal gives you the notice text for the applicant and deletes the documents after 30 days.
Does it replace rent default insurance?
No. It complements it: an applicant with verified documents goes into the insurance with less friction, and you avoid paying the premium for someone who was never going to pay.
